Event Information

With courses equally as breathtaking as they are challenging, Thunder Bay has been quietly developing into Ontario’s hidden disc golf treasure. With the completion of the mammoth course at Dragon Hills (co-designed by Cale Leiviska, Chris Wakefield and Michael Thompson) and support from the stunning Birch Point course at Boulevard Lake, Thunder Bay is ready to take a step-forward and represent the true north strong and free with the Northern Ontario Disc Golf Championship.

A PDGA event with much more than the minimum added. Sponsorship support from Dragon Hills Golf Club, Marnics Mobile, Sleeping Giant Brewing, Toke House, Kitchi Sawbe Education & Healing Retreats, Chris’ Custom Concrete, the ODSA, as well as a host of other generous sponsors has allowed us the freedom to host a top-tier event to represent the massive northern region of our great province. All players will be provided with power carts for their Dragon Hills rounds. Amateur players will receive a NOC players pack as well as prizing and trophies for finishing in the top spot(s) within their division.

All players are also welcomed to the (infamous) Saturday evening player’s party with food courtesy of the event. We’re presently booked-in on the upper mezzanine at Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. until closing hours Saturday night. Last year we introduced the concept of “Disc Pong” and gave a tonne of great prizes away; this year, we plan to do the same. As a result of current measures being taken to reduce the opportunity to spread the COVID virus, all participants at the players party are asked to wear masks when entering the building and en route to our seating area. Once sat, you are welcome to remove your mask. We ask that attendees adhere to social distancing best practices at all times. Sleeping Giant is currently only open until 8pm (with plans to extend hours shortly). On the off-chance these hours are not extended prior to our event, we welcome all tournament participants to join us afterwards in co-TD Chris Wakefield’s backyard for a social beverage while we keep the prizes and Disc Pong alive!

Below you’ll find details regarding the courses, schedule and history of the event. We hope you enjoy yourself, and look forward to seeing everyone at the NOC!
